Almeria Carpentry

I can only say that I am relieved that they have gone....... At least for the moment!!We moved to Spain in March; we knew the house needed a lot of work, electrical, plumbing and decorating. The previous owner had a lot of long dresses so the rails were too high for us and there was a lack of drawer space. We also have a huge number of books which needed shelves so we decided to make a spare bedroom into a library with a bed sofa.All our trades came from personal recommendation Except the carpenter who came through a Facebook forum.We were pleased with the initial design even though we only wanted the cupboard interiors redesigned. But we were persuaded to go with sliding doors and cut to measure units from a factory-flat pack furniture.We paid upfront for the materials which, when they arrived at the workshop, took up a lot of room. We agreed that he could start work on a date of his choosing to make space in the workshop but we never pressured him. In the meantime all the door archetraves had been removed as we had termites.In short, the week long" job has taken over a month during which there were mistakes at every turn. The only thing which went well straight away were the archetraves because they were done by a skilledcarpenter brought in while the assistant was off work. Some days we didn't see him
